Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently shared its latest updates on processing times for various immigration applications. These updates are crucial for those planning to move to Canada, as they provide valuable insights into the current wait times. The latest monthly update was released on November 5, with a follow-up weekly update on November 13, 2024.
These updates come at a critical time, with Canadian immigration experiencing rising backlogs. Staying informed about these timelines helps applicants make better decisions and plan their immigration journey accordingly. IRCC aims to offer transparency and clarity, regularly revising processing times to keep applicants informed.

The processing time for citizenship certificates remains at 4 months, while renunciation takes 16 months. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) maintain a processing time of 5 months. Meanwhile, the Provincial Nominee Program with Express Entry takes 6 months. However, there have been increases in some other areas. For example, the Quebec Skilled Worker program has seen a jump to 11 months (up by 2 months), while the Quebec Business Class program has a significant delay of 58 months (up by 9 months).
Temporary Residency Processing Times
Processing times for temporary residency applications vary based on location. For example, visitor visas from India now take 113 days, while those from the United States take only 23 days.
