Canada invited 825 provincial nominees in its latest Express Entry round.
Canada has invited 825 new candidates to apply for permanent residency through a recent Express Entry draw held on April 14, 2025. This draw was specifically for people who had received a nomination from a Canadian province under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
To qualify, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 764. They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 6:35 p.m. (UTC) on August 17, 2024.
This draw marks the first one since changes were made to the way points are given for arranged employment. It also follows a French-language draw on March 21 and another PNP draw on March 17.
So far in 2025, the Canadian immigration department has issued 31,508 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. These invitations give selected candidates the chance to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
Canada has set a goal of welcoming 124,680 new permanent residents through Express Entry this year, as part of its 2025–2027 immigration plan. However, it’s important to understand that an ITA doesn’t always mean someone will move to Canada.
An ITA simply invites someone to apply. After that, the person must submit a full application. Sometimes, candidates may return their invitations or fail to qualify. In other cases, their application may be refused. Only when the person arrives in Canada and finalizes their paperwork do they officially become a permanent resident.
