Recent BC PNP Draw 2024: Updates on British Columbia’s Invitations

New 2024 BC PNP Draw Results for British Columbia.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its latest draw on August 27, 2024, issuing a total of 158 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency. This draw was part of a series aimed at filling specific needs in the province's labour market.

In this draw, 69 invitations were issued to candidates in 35 tech occupations under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including those with Express Entry profiles. The cutoff score for these tech occupations decreased by 2 points from the previous draw on August 13, making it slightly easier for tech professionals to receive an invitation.

Additionally, 40 invitations were extended to individuals with experience as early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors, categorized under NOC 42202. This is an essential role as early childhood education is a significant focus in the province’s labour market.

The draw also targeted 18 individuals with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations. This reflects British Columbia's ongoing need for healthcare professionals to support its growing healthcare sector.

Another notable category in this draw was construction-related occupations. A total of 31 invitations were sent to applicants with experience in 25 different construction roles. This category was part of a new approach introduced in late 2023 to address labour shortages in key sectors.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the latest BC PNP draw:

  • August 27, 2024:
    • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202): 40 invitations with a minimum score of 83.
    • Construction Occupations: 31 invitations with a minimum score of 88.
    • Healthcare Occupations: 18 invitations with a minimum score of 99.
    • Tech Occupations: 69 invitations with a minimum score of 118.
    • Veterinary Care: Fewer than 5 invitations with a minimum score of 80.

Comparatively, the August 20 draw also targeted a wide range of occupations with varying cutoff scores. This included 83 invitations for Skilled Workers with a minimum score of 130, and 38 invitations for early childhood educators with a minimum score of 85.

Earlier in the month, the August 13 draw had a slightly higher cutoff score for tech occupations at 120 and fewer invitations for construction and healthcare roles compared to the latest draw.

The BC PNP has been actively addressing labour shortages by tailoring its invitation draws to meet specific industry needs, reflecting a targeted approach to immigration. The province continues to seek skilled individuals to support its diverse and growing economy.
