Alberta has started its 2025 PNP selections, inviting candidates with experience in rural jobs and healthcare.
Alberta has started its first round of invitations for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 2025. The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) invited candidates based on their skills, work experience, and connections to the province.
At the same time, New Brunswick has shared updates about processing applications for its Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP). This comes after the province recently reopened its immigration streams.
The AAIP has now posted results from three selection rounds held earlier in February. These draws targeted candidates under the Rural Renewal Stream and the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (both Express Entry and non-Express Entry categories).
Here’s how the invitations were distributed:
The Dedicated Health Care Pathway has two separate intakes. One is aligned with the Express Entry system, while the other is for applicants who do not qualify under Express Entry but still meet the eligibility criteria.
New Brunswick has provided new details about how it will issue invitations to candidates through its Expression of Interest (EOI) portal.
The province will begin sending invitations in March 2025 through scheduled draws. Currently, officials are reviewing all EOIs that have been submitted.
However, New Brunswick has faced technical issues due to a high number of visitors on its immigration website. The NBPNP has assured applicants that its technical team is working to fix the problem.
In its latest update, the province clarified that applications under the Skilled Worker Stream are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, candidates must ensure they meet the latest eligibility requirements before submitting an EOI. This includes checking National Occupation Classification (NOC) restrictions.
Once submitted, an EOI remains valid for up to 365 days.
