New BC PNP Draw Results 2024 Released.
On August 7, the latest BC PNP draw issued over 144 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency (PR) in both general and targeted rounds. This draw included a variety of occupational categories, reflecting British Columbia's ongoing efforts to meet labour market demands.
In the general draw, 59 invitations were sent out to applicants who met the minimum score eligibility criteria. The minimum score required was 132 for all streams, except for the entry-level and semi-skilled streams, which required a score of 110. Notably, the cutoff score for this draw dropped by 2 points compared to the previous BC PNP general draw, indicating a slight easing in the selection process.
Additionally, targeted draws were conducted for specific occupations. For early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors (NOC 42202), 32 invitations were issued to candidates who met the necessary criteria. This reflects the province's focus on addressing the need for skilled workers in the early childhood education sector.
The healthcare sector also saw significant attention in this draw, with 24 invitations issued to profiles with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations. This targeted draw underscores the importance of healthcare professionals in British Columbia and the province’s commitment to bolstering its healthcare workforce.
Moreover, 29 invitations were issued to applicants with experience in 25 construction-related occupations. This is part of British Columbia's newest category-based draw, which was introduced in late 2023. This initiative aims to address the growing demand for skilled workers in the construction industry, which is critical for the province’s infrastructure development and housing projects.
