British Columbia’s Latest 2024 PNP Draw Results Revealed
On August 20, 2024, British Columbia conducted its latest Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw, issuing a total of 156 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency. This draw included a mix of general and targeted invitations, reflecting the province’s ongoing efforts to address specific labour market needs.
In the general draw, 83 invitations were extended to candidates across several streams. These invitations were given to individuals in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories, as well as their Express Entry BC (EEBC) variants. The minimum score required for these categories was set at 130, which is a slight decrease of 2 points from the previous draw on August 7.
The August 20 draw also featured targeted invitations for specific occupations. Thirty-eight invitations went to candidates with experience as early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202). This is a notable effort to fill roles in the early childhood education sector, reflecting a priority for the province.
In addition, 15 invitations were issued to profiles with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations. This move highlights British Columbia’s commitment to addressing healthcare workforce shortages. Another 20 invitations were extended to applicants with experience in 25 construction-related occupations, as part of a new category introduced in late 2023 to address specific industry needs.
Here’s a breakdown of the August 20 BC PNP draw:
Comparatively, the August 13 draw had targeted invitations for childcare, construction, healthcare, and tech occupations. The minimum scores varied, with a notable 120 for tech roles. The August 7 draw had a general minimum score of 132 for Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, with specific categories like childcare, construction, and healthcare showing slightly varied scores and numbers.
