Institues Overview
The University of Sudbury (UofS), now named Université de Sudbury, is currently in a phase of transition as it became, in 2021, a francophone university in order to be able to respond to the needs of the francophone and the francophile communities of North-East Ontario. The UofS is Northern Ontario’s longest-standing postsecondary institution and a founding member of the Laurentian Federation.
Located in Sudbury, on the traditional lands of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek and Wahnapitae First Nations and approximately four hours north of Toronto, the UofS is surrounded by nature, but also many urban attractions. It is currently putting together a slate of high quality undergraduate programs in a number of fields that are in demand.
