Alongside invitations based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores and eligibility for particular programs like the Provincial Nominee Program, category-based draws target individuals falling under six distinct categories.
These categories include individuals with work experience in fields such as healthcare, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), trades like carpentry, plumbing, and contracting, transportation, agriculture and agri-food, or those with strong French language proficiency.
