Manitoba Issues New Invitations in Latest 2024 MPNP Draw

Manitoba sends out fresh invitations in the latest 2024 MPNP round.

In the latest Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw on October 24, 2024, a total of 253 invitations were issued to candidates for permanent residency across different categories. Among them, 43 invitations were given to individuals with valid Express Entry profiles, along with a job seeker validation code. This draw is part of Manitoba’s ongoing efforts to invite skilled workers and international graduates to contribute to the province’s workforce and economy.

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream saw 50 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued to eligible candidates. The lowest-ranked candidate in this category had a ranking score of 872. Candidates in this stream must already be employed or have a strong connection to Manitoba, and are typically considered based on their skills, work experience, and adaptability.

Under the International Education Stream, 156 invitations were sent to candidates who met the stream’s specific eligibility requirements. This stream is designed to attract graduates from Manitoba post-secondary institutions who have the potential to become long-term contributors to the province’s labour market. The program seeks to retain talent from within Manitoba, encouraging international students to remain in the province after completing their studies.

For the Skilled Worker Overseas category, 47 invitations were issued to those who Manitoba had directly invited through a strategic recruitment initiative. The lowest-ranked candidate in this category had a score of 703. This stream typically targets skilled workers living abroad who can contribute to specific labour market needs in Manitoba, especially in occupations where there is a shortage of workers.

In addition to this draw, previous MPNP draws in 2024 also showcased the province’s continued efforts to invite foreign talent. For example, the October 10 draw issued 234 invitations across multiple categories. In this draw, 82 invitations were issued under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream with a minimum score of 845. The International Education Stream issued 114 invitations, while 38 candidates in the Skilled Worker Overseas category were invited with a minimum score of 711. Of the total, 36 candidates with valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes were included.

Another significant draw occurred on September 27, where 269 invitations were issued through the International Education Stream, along with 79 invitations for the Skilled Worker Overseas category, with a minimum score of 582. This round demonstrated Manitoba's focus on retaining international graduates while also attracting skilled workers from outside the province.

On September 12, the MPNP held an occupation-specific draw targeting specific jobs such as cooks and chefs, classified under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 codes 63200 and 62200. In this round, 206 invitations were issued, including 21 to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles. This draw emphasized Manitoba’s targeted approach to address specific labour market demands, particularly in high-demand occupations.

The MPNP plays a crucial role in supporting Manitoba’s economic growth by selecting candidates who meet the province’s unique labour market needs. Through both base and enhanced PNP programs, candidates have the opportunity to secure permanent residency, helping to strengthen Manitoba’s workforce and contributing to the province’s long-term development.
