On December 27, 2024, Manitoba's MPNP draw invited 276 candidates from various categories to apply for permanent residency.

In this round, 56 invitations were given to candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile. The MPNP program is designed to attract skilled workers and other individuals who can contribute to the local economy by offering them an opportunity to apply for permanent residency in Manitoba.

The bulk of the invitations—239 in total—went to candidates who had profiles under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category. These candidates were considered from a pool of eligible applicants who demonstrated they had the skills and experience needed in Manitoba’s workforce. The lowest-ranked candidate invited had a score of 857, meaning that those who received invitations were highly competitive in the pool.

Another specific selection under this category targeted people currently working in Manitoba in particular occupations. In this draw, 18 invitations were sent to candidates working in fields like surgery specialists, general practitioners, family physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and transit operators such as bus drivers. This group was selected based on the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 codes for these professions.

Additionally, 19 invitations were sent to candidates employed in the food service sector. The lowest-ranked candidate in this subgroup had a score of 632. These targeted selections aim to fill the growing demand for skilled workers in industries that are vital to Manitoba’s economy.

The International Education Stream also saw a significant number of invitations. A total of 297 invitations were issued to candidates who met the eligibility requirements for this stream. The International Education Stream is for individuals who have studied in Manitoba and who possess skills that are in demand in the province. This program is intended to help retain talented graduates who can contribute to the province’s workforce.

Another important group considered in this draw was the Skilled Worker Overseas category. This category targeted candidates who the MPNP directly invited through strategic recruitment initiatives. A total of 102 invitations were issued under this stream, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited having a score of 630.

In a previous MPNP draw on November 22, 2024, invitations were sent to candidates under similar categories, including those with close relatives in Manitoba, those in the International Education Stream, and those in the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.

The MPNP is a key component of Manitoba’s immigration strategy, providing a pathway for skilled workers, international students, and other talented individuals to establish themselves in the province. The program’s draws take place regularly throughout the year, inviting those with the right skills and experience to make Manitoba their new home.
