Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan unveil new immigration nominations

This week, four Canadian provinces issued new nominations through their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), inviting candidates for immigration based on their professional skills, job offers, and overall eligibility.

British Columbia

On September 10, British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) conducted a draw targeting candidates in specific professions. The invitations were extended through the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream, which aligns with the federal Express Entry system. Candidates were selected based on their professional experience in high-demand fields. For this draw, the minimum scores required varied by profession:

  • Childcare workers needed a minimum score of 83 (30 invitations issued).
  • Construction workers required a score of 89 (19 invitations issued).
  • Healthcare workers needed a score of 99 (18 invitations issued).
  • Tech workers required a higher score of 117 (84 invitations issued).
  • Veterinary care workers needed a score of 80 (at least one invitation issued).

Ontario

Ontario held multiple draws on September 10 and 12 through its Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP):

  1. Employment Job Offer: International Students stream - 806 candidates were invited with a minimum score of 67. They needed a job offer in a health occupation or skilled trade.
  2. Employment Job Offer: Skilled Trades stream - 15 candidates were invited with the same minimum score of 67 and a job offer in a skilled trade.
  3. Employment Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream - 647 candidates were invited with a minimum score of 34 and a job offer that met the stream's requirements.

On September 12, Ontario also held a selection under the Human Capital Priorities stream, inviting 1,269 candidates. These candidates needed a score between 414 and 444 and work experience in healthcare roles.

Manitoba

On September 12, Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 206 Letters of Advice to Apply under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. To qualify, candidates needed current employment as a cook or chef and either they or their spouse must have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba. Of those invited, 21 had valid Express Entry profiles.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan's Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) conducted a draw on September 12 under the Occupations-In-Demand stream. This draw invited 32 candidates. To be eligible, candidates required a minimum score of 88 and needed either an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) or a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution. They also needed to be employed in one of several specified occupations, including roles in financial management, cybersecurity, and education.
