Navigating the Alberta Express Entry Stream: Your Gateway to Canadian Permanent Residency
The Alberta Express Entry stream serves as a crucial pathway for skilled workers aspiring to attain permanent residency in Alberta, Canada. This stream operates in tandem with the federal Express Entry system, ensuring a streamlined process for eligible candidates. To qualify for consideration, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile under one of the following programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), or Federal Skilled Trades (FST).
Under the Federal Skilled Worker program, candidates are required to possess a minimum of a high school diploma and at least one year of continuous full-time skilled work experience. Skilled work experience is classified at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B. Language proficiency in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 is also mandatory.
Canadian Experience Class applicants are not subject to a minimum education requirement. However, they must demonstrate at least one year of full-time Canadian skilled work experience within the three years preceding their application. Similar to FSW, language proficiency requirements apply, with CLB 7 for NOC Skill Level 0 or A, and CLB 5 for NOC Skill Level B.Federal Skilled Trades candidates must hold licensure or certification for their trade in Canada, or an offer for full-time employment lasting at least 12 months. Additionally, language proficiency at CLB level 4 in either English or French is required.
