  6. Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 59 years old to qualify for the program.

    Application Procedure

    The application process for the Critical Worker stream follows an Expression of Interest (EOI) system:

    1. Submission of Profile: Eligible candidates submit their profiles to PEI’s pool of candidates, outlining their qualifications and connection to the province.
    2. Ranking: Profiles in the pool are ranked using the PEI Labour Impact Category Ranking System. This ranking system evaluates various factors to determine candidates’ suitability for the program.
    3. Invitation to Apply: The highest-ranking candidates receive invitations to submit complete applications during periodic draws conducted by PEI.
    4. Provincial Nomination: Successful candidates receive a provincial nomination from PEI, a crucial step towards obtaining Canadian permanent residence.
    5. Federal Application: Within six months of receiving the provincial nomination, applicants must submit a paper-based application for Canadian permanent residence to the appropriate application center.
    6. Processing: Paper-based PNP applications typically take around 18 months to process, during which thorough assessments of candidates’ eligibility and admissibility are conducted.
