Unlock Your Path to Permanent Residency with the International Skilled Worker Program

Saskatchewan, a province known for its vibrant economy and diverse workforce, offers a promising avenue for skilled workers from around the globe through its International Skilled Worker Category. Designed to attract and retain top talent, this category comprises four distinct pathways, each tailored to cater to different professional backgrounds and circumstances.

Tech Talent Pathway

The Tech Talent Pathway serves as a conduit for highly skilled individuals possessing expertise in specific technology-related occupations. Aimed at bolstering Saskatchewan’s tech sector, this sub-category extends opportunities to those with a concrete job offer from a Saskatchewan employer in one of the 11 designated tech occupations. By focusing on the practical aspect of securing employment in the province’s burgeoning tech industry, this pathway facilitates the integration of skilled workers into key sectors driving economic growth.

Employment Offer

For skilled workers who have already secured a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer, the Employment Offer sub-category provides a streamlined pathway towards immigration. Recognizing the significance of employer support in facilitating successful integration into the local workforce, this pathway acknowledges the value of pre-existing employment arrangements in fostering stability and productivity for both employers and employees alike.

Occupations in Demand

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category caters to highly skilled individuals possessing experience in occupations deemed essential to Saskatchewan’s economic development. Unlike the Employment Offer pathway, this sub-category extends opportunities to skilled workers who have yet to secure a job offer within the province. By focusing on in-demand occupations, this pathway aligns immigration with the evolving needs of Saskatchewan’s labor market, ensuring that skilled workers can contribute meaningfully to sectors experiencing growth and development.

Saskatchewan Express Entry

The Saskatchewan Express Entry pathway offers a specialized route for candidates already part of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry pool. Targeting skilled workers with experience in in-demand occupations specific to Saskatchewan, this sub-category leverages the existing Express Entry system to streamline the immigration process. By tapping into a pool of pre-screened candidates, this pathway expedites the selection and integration of skilled workers, thereby addressing immediate labor market needs efficiently.

    Process Overview

In Saskatchewan, the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories employ an Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

    1. Registration:
      • Begin by registering your Expression of Interest (EOI) on the SINP Apply Online portal.
      • Complete a form detailing your information, which will be evaluated for eligibility.
    1. EOI Pool Entry:
      • To enter the EOI pool, you must attain a minimum of 60 out of 110 points on the EOI Points Grid.
      • The EOI Points Grid assesses candidates based on education and training, skilled work experience, language ability, age, connections to the Saskatchewan labor market, and adaptability.
    2. Selection:
      • If selected, you’ll receive an invitation to apply during an EOI draw.
    3. Provincial Nomination Application:
      • Upon receiving an invitation, you can apply for a provincial nomination from the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) through the same portal.
      • If applying through the Employment Offer sub-category with a job offer, you can proceed directly without registering an EOI.
    4. Approval and Permanent Residence:
      • Once your application is approved, you can then apply for permanent residence directly to IRCC.
      • For applicants under the Express Entry sub-category, Saskatchewan will input your nomination details into the system, granting you an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This substantially increases your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry draw.

This process streamlines the pathway to permanent residency for qualified candidates in Saskatchewan’s Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories.
